ACT 3 DRAMA ACADEMY
SEPTEMBER HOLIDAY WORKSHOP
For 3 to 6 years old (9 – 13 September 2013)
The Golden Touch
9:30am – 11:30am (5-session workshop)
This well-known classic fable relates how King Midas was granted a wish as a reward for a kind deed. Distracted by his love for gold, he wished for his every touch to turn to gold. This gift turned out to be more than he bargained for as he turned everything, including his food, drinks and children into gold!
Through this thought-provoking story, children will learn about morals and values while sharing and exchanging their thoughts on it with one another, as well as retelling the story through dramatisation.
If Trees Could Talk
Daily, 3pm – 5pm (1-session workshop)
Through fun and stimulating activities, children will delve deeper into Dr Seuss’s entertaining book, ‘Look for the Lorax’.
Each child will be encouraged to share a thought and speak up before a group for the first time and through the story, begin to understand narratives, learn new words, as well as pick up storytelling techniques such as the use of voice, body and movement and rhythm and rhyme.
