Pink Ribbon Walk 2015

Pink Ribbon Walk 2015
3 October 2015 (Saturday)

2pm – Carnival Commences
5pm – 3.2km Walk Commences

Marina Bay Event Square @ Waterfront Promenade

Pink Ribbon Walk (PRW), organised by Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF) aims to bring breast cancer fighters, survivors and supporters together in a symbolic 3.2km walk and hopes to raise awareness of breast cancer amongst others who are unfamiliar with or unaware of the gravity of the disease. This event is in conjunction with the internationally recognised Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Join in the fun activities for young and old at the carnival taking place before the walk. Commencing at 2pm at the Waterfront Promenade’s Event Square, the carnival is open to members of the public.

With an estimated turnout of 6,000 participants, expect waves of pink – the internationally recognised colour for breast cancer awareness – to take over Singapore’s evening skyline as the walk flags off at 5pm.

Registration is now open at www.pinkribbonsingapore.com.
All participants will receive a PRW tee-shirt, goodie bag and a chance to win great prizes in the lucky draw. They will also be able to mingle with the cast from Pangdemonium’s upcoming play, Chinglish, as well as fairies from WINX.

Take A Walk Around The World With NTUC FairPrice

Take A Walk Around The World With NTUC FairPrice
30 August 2014, The Promontory @ Marina Bay

FairPrice Foundation will donate $100 to low-income families
for each sign up; targets to donate up to $1 million

NTUC FairPrice’s (FairPrice) signature walking event, FairPrice Walks With U, is back after a successful inaugural event last year which saw over 5,000 participants and $1 million dollars donated to help low-income families.

Targeted at families, FairPrice aims to promote family bonding and healthy living among Singaporeans through a themed walking event; this year’s theme is “Walk Around the World” where participants will be treated to a carnival of sights and sounds from countries like USA, Japan, and Brazil.

FairPrice expects to attract 6,000 participants this year from all walks of life, especially family units comprising three generations – children, parents and grandparents.

Similar to last year, the NTUC FairPrice will pledge $100 per registration to the FairPrice Food Voucher Scheme via its Foundation. In addition, FairPrice will also pledge an additional $10 in FairPrice vouchers to the Food Voucher Scheme for every Instagram, Twitter or Facebook post that carries the official hashtag #fairpricewalk, along with an accompanying photo or line explaining why walking with one’s family is fun or memorable. FairPrice Foundation targets to donate up to $1 million to the FairPrice Food Voucher Scheme for this event.

This year’s new route will see participants flagged-off at the Promontory against the iconic Marina Bay backdrop. The 5km walk will take the participants past the Marina Bay Sands as they make their way towards the Gardens By The Bay, eventually ending back at the Waterfront Promenade next to the Promontory.

Besides taking in the beautiful scenery, participants can also expect to be entertained by various entertainment acts along the walking route, which has been divided into zones, each representing a different country from around the world.

Immediately after the flag-off, participants will first be greeted by Samba dancers from Brazil, before coming across Greek statues under the Sheares Avenue Bridge.
