Join in for a scavenger hunt and learn fun facts about fruits and flowers. Pick up a map (while stocks last) from the  fruity booth at the Canopy and start looking for clues. Stand a chance to win a special gift for Mom if you complete the hunt with her, with correct answers!

Earth Hour 2014, 29th March - Singapore

With the record switch off for Earth Hour 2014, Singapore goes dark for 1 hour to mark its commitment to save the planet on 29th March 2014. The cast of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx and WWF's iconic Panda took part in this symbolic switch-off at The Float at Marina Bay. Various buildings, hotels and malls across Singapore also turned off their lights to participate in this global movement.

5 Days to Earth Hour in Singapore, and the 5 Things You Need to Know

    1. The cast of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is coming to Singapore to celebrate Earth Hour on Saturday, 29 March 2014. That’s Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Jamie Foxx, together with the director and producers of the show.

    2. Spider-Man will be there for the Official Lights Off Ceremony, putting Singapore at the heart of Earth Hour celebrations around the world

    3. There will be fun things to do, like watching live performances by the LuMen Dancers, Samba Masala and the Invincible Diamonds Cheerleaders. You can even show off your dance moves on Energy Floors to generate electricity!

    Kids Fiesta 2014 & Art is FUN Contest

    Kids Fiesta 2014

    Kids Fiesta 2014: FUNtastiCarnival is a unique one-stop carnival for kids to eat, play, shop and have fun with the ARTS. It is a meaningful event that seeks to inspire and nurture young Singaporeans through art activities and ART is FUN! contest. Children will be exposed to different art mediums, from visual arts to performing arts, and even martial arts.

    Art plays an important part in a child’s development. It provides freedom of expression and an outlet for little ones to express themselves creatively.

    Like arts, sports require skill and dedication of time, whether it is played competitively or pursued as a leisure activity. Join the sports-related activities too on the event.

    The event aims to strengthen community bonds, promote volunteerism and the spirit of giving as children donate their artwork, and in turn, the proceeds to charity, encouraging them to build a caring and gracious society.    


    Highlights

    Art is FUN: Calling in art pieces from kids 12 and below to submit what their idea of fun is via drawing, painting, colouring…anything!

    Splash paint on paper, play around with recycled materials, doodle with crayons - show us how creative you can get on a piece of drawing paper! Most importantly, just have FUN! 

    Selected art pieces will be displayed and sold at $50. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Children’s Charities Association. The charity will to be selling their works. Some of these children are going through art therapy.

    Selected art works will be placed along with several MediaCorp artistes.

    Mail your drawing to Kids Fiesta 2014: ART is FUN!, MediaCorp Pte Ltd, 10 Ang Mo Kio St 65, #01-06 Techpoint, Singapore 569059.

    Include your name, age, contact number, address, email address and code <KFFBFUN> behind your drawing paper. Winners will be notified by post.

    All entries to be submitted by 10th Feb 2014

    Performances:

    • Children from the charity association will be putting up a song and dance.
    • Rapunzel from SRT’s The Little Company will be doing a short preview and meet & greet with our crowd.
    • Nikole Horkin, puppeteer, will be performing Ugly Fish
    • Dikir Barat (Traditional Malay singing group, performed with percussion and clappings)
    • Martial arts and more!

    Meet & Greet: 
    Winx Club Fairies, Batman, Angry Bird, cast from Rapunzel and more!

    Amusement Rides: 
    There is an amusement section catered to those who are in for the thrill! Kids can anticipate swinging chairs, Viking rides, bouncy slide etc.
