HOP and HONK - The Ugly Duckling and the Frog Prince, 29 Oct - 15 Nov 2014 Singapore

HOP and HONK - The Ugly Duckling and the Frog Prince
29 Oct - 15 Nov 2014
Drama Centre Theatre, National Library

Hop and Honk is a spectacular musical performance presented in the best Broadway and West End tradition!
How, and why did the prince turn into the frog? Who did the ugly duckling meet when she ran away? And bringing the two stories together — what happens when the frog meets the duckling?
By combining and intertwining two seemingly quite different stories from two of history's most prolific children's authors, Hans Christian Andersen and The Brothers Grimm, we can shed new light on both classic tales — and the result is double the entertainment value.

Alliance Française Theatre

Written and Directed by Brian Seward
Featuring performers from Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong

Most suitable for 2-8 years and families
Duration: 45 minutes

Synopsis:
Why is the moon round?
Why are there so many colours and shapes in the world?

Come, journey with Smallest Dragon as she goes in search of answers in a magical, whimsical and colourful world.

Round the Moon, Blue the Sky is a fast-paced, lively and physical production about Smallest Dragon. She is always asking questions, poking her nose into things and curious about the world.

What are her favourite words? WHY and HOW and WHAT!
One night she sees the moon, and wonders why it is the shape that it is. Fascinated, she sets off to find other round things – and quickly realises that there are many other important shapes too. As she explores, she also discovers the wonder of colours!

Combining a unique blend of physical theatre, riveting puppetry, black light magic and lots of audience interaction, this highly engaging and educational performance is specially tailored for children from 2 to 8 years old; although older children and grownups will find much to amuse, enthral and engage too!
