Synopsis:
Why is the moon round?
Why are there so many colours and shapes in the world?

Come, journey with Smallest Dragon as she goes in search of answers in a magical, whimsical and colourful world.

Round the Moon, Blue the Sky is a fast-paced, lively and physical production about Smallest Dragon. She is always asking questions, poking her nose into things and curious about the world.

What are her favourite words? WHY and HOW and WHAT!
One night she sees the moon, and wonders why it is the shape that it is. Fascinated, she sets off to find other round things – and quickly realises that there are many other important shapes too. As she explores, she also discovers the wonder of colours!

Combining a unique blend of physical theatre, riveting puppetry, black light magic and lots of audience interaction, this highly engaging and educational performance is specially tailored for children from 2 to 8 years old; although older children and grownups will find much to amuse, enthral and engage too!

OTTOMAN KEBAB & GRILL, BEDOK MALL

OTTOMAN KEBAB & GRILL OPENS AT BEDOK MALL
First Gourmet Pte Ltd, the homegrown company behind successful brands like award-winning contemporary Indian restaurant Zaffron Kitchen and casual chic Prata Wala presents its latest brainchild – Ottoman Kebab & Grill at the newly-launched Bedok Mall within Bedok Central.
Signatures: Pide flat bread, Homous, Falafel, Cheese Borek, Iskender Mutton Kebab, Doner Chicken/Beef/Mutton, Ottoman Shish Platter, Kunefe
This new eatery is helmed by Turkish native Head Chef Ali Kose, who has over ten years of culinary experience, two of which saw him as the Sous Chef at Gordon Ramsay’s Michelin-starred Maze in London.

In line with the group’s penchant for cheery and chic interiors and furnishing, the frontage of the intimate 40-seater casual restaurant beckons with its Ottoman-style ceramic tiles of cobalt-blue geometric patterns.

Starters and Sides

An authentic Homous is oft-considered the hallmark of a good Turkish restaurant, and Chef Ali’s rendition of this chick pea dip is gratifyingly creamy with a deft balance of tahini (ground sesame paste), lime juice, and garlic. This is best mopped up with the pillowy homemade Pide Flat Bread which is cooked over lava stones for a characteristic char-grilled aroma before serving. For a healthy and refreshing salad, pick the Tabouli which is a riot of colours with bulgur, chopped parsley, tomatoes, onions and diced cucumbers. Other moreish starters to share include the Cheese Borek Turkish spring roll of feta cheese, and Falafel  which are deep fried patties made from ground chick pea and fava beans.

Mains
The substantial portion of the Iskender Mutton Kebab makes it a satisfying main course which can be shared comfortably between two diners. Minced mutton patties are grilled and arranged atop a bed of crispy pide croutons, then generously slathered with a rich sauce of sun-dried tomatoes, celery, carrots, shallots, and dried mint; spoon over a dollop of tangy yoghurt before tucking into this rustic dish with gusto.

Doner kebab is a quintessential aspect of Turkish street food and here at Ottoman Kebab & Grill, the meats – chicken, beef, and mutton – are first marinated with celery, onions, garlic, coriander, tomato paste, and milk before they are roasted on a vertical rotating spit. Diners can enjoy the doner in several delicious combinations - as a wrap using lavash (a thin Turkish unleavened flat bread), stuffed in a pide, with a tabouli salad, or with pilav rice (rice cooked in broth with vegetables such as carrots, peas, and corn).

Shish kebab, another archetypal Turkish classic whereby meats and seafood are threaded onto metal skewers and grilled, is available as individual skewers, or served with bread and pilav rice. Ottoman Kebab offers a choice of chicken, beef, mutton, and seafood (fish fillet and prawns); as well as the all-encompassing Ottoman Shish Platter which comes in a combination of chicken, beef, and seafood, alongside pide and pilav rice.

Desserts and Drinks

Ottoman Kebab & Grill takes particular pride in being one of the few Turkish restaurants in Singapore to serve authentic Kunefe that is freshly prepared upon order (20 minute preparation time). Not for the faint-hearted, this ambrosial traditional Turkish dessert, which comprises stretchy nabulsi goat cheese encased within shredded kadayif phyllo pastry, is pan-fried with butter to a golden hue, then drizzled with sugar syrup and crushed pistachios before being served. Striving for perfection, Chef Ali has even imported the traditional kunefe cooking pan from his homeland as its unique aluminium base allows the heat to be distributed evenly during cooking.

Relish this ethereal finale with a sweet Apple Tea, or a dainty tasse of Turkish Coffee which is boiled the time-honoured way in a copper cevze pot. For little ones, order the Sutluc rice puddings which come in milk and chocolate flavours.

Uninterrupted Sleep Makes for Brighter, More Sociable Babies - Pampers by P&G Singapore!

Uninterrupted Sleep Makes for
Brighter, More Sociable Babies

New Pampers Baby Dry with improved Extra Sleep-Layer helps baby get up to 12 hrs of Golden Sleep so he wakes up ready to enjoy a Dream Morning.

Babies who sleep better have been shown to be more positive about interacting and concentrating; be more alert and generally able to interact more sociably with those around him*.
Mornings are the perfect time for babies and moms to bond, as they can enjoy special time getting to know each other and preparing for the day ahead. These precious moments are important for baby’s social development and are all the more likely to happen after a good night’s sleep.

Uninterrupted sleep, which Pampers calls “Golden Sleep”, is part of what constitutes a good night’s rest and Pampers understands that for a baby this means remaining dry and free from leaks.
Baby Sleep Expert, Dr Luci Wiggs comments:
“There are many internal and external factors which may lead to a baby waking or arousing during the night, including common triggers such as hunger, noise, light or discomfort. Current available research suggests that helping to keep babies dry during sleep is one factor which may minimize disruption of sleep due to discomfort, environmental stimulation or temperature alterations."

New Pampers Baby-Dry with improved Extra Sleep-Layer absorbs wetness faster than before to help baby get up to 12 hours of undisturbed ‘Golden Sleep’. The improved Extra Sleep-Layer is now longer, enabling new Pampers Baby-Dry to absorb large amounts of liquid faster than before; and because the Extra Sleep-Layer gets reactivated quickly, it is ready to absorb another urination again even after hours of wear.

Peter & Blue’s Forest Adventure, 5 - 8 June 2014

Peter & Blue’s Forest Adventure
Presented by Singapore Dance Theatre
5 - 8 June 2014 | Esplanade Theatre Studio

For ages 3 and above
Back by popular demand, Singapore Dance Theatre (SDT) will be restaging Peter & Blue’s Forest Adventure from 5 - 8 June at the Esplanade Theatre Studio. Created by SDT Artistic Director Janek Schergen, this hour- long children’s ballet production brings together meaningful morals in a time of fun and adventure.
On a sunny midsummer morning, Peter, his dog Blue and cat Calico, venture into the enchanted forest in search of treats to surprise his mother on her birthday.

In the woods, Peter and Blue meet the forest guardians, the Blueberry Boys, who lead them into the most secluded and magical part of the forest. On their journey, they meet many new friends - Mr and Mrs Strawberry, the Apple Blossom Girls, the trouble-making Thistle, Thorn, and Acorn, and the charming flowers Lilac, Rose, and Snapdragon. Each generously gives Peter special treasures to add to his mother’s birthday basket.

Peter and Blue are escorted home by their new friends, where Peter presents his mother with the basket of goodies. As the day ends, Mother tucks Peter into bed, and the forest folk watch as he falls asleep after his day of adventure.

Meet-the-characters and photo-taking session will also take place after the show.

KIds Choice Awards (KCA) 2014!

Did you get a chance to catch one of the best award shows ever with big stars, unbelievable stunts, fantastic music and above all green gooey slime on Nickelodeon?

Yes, we are talking about Kids Choice Awards 2014 by Nickelodeon (Ch 314, 6pm) premiered on 31st March 2014 in Singapore

Hosted by Mark Wahlberg (un-slimable), this was really a kids choice show where kids ruled and nominated actors, TV shows, movies, music groups and even selected the slime stunt of their choice besides being given the opportunity to chose who to be slimed during the show. Coupled with the slime-fest by Nickelodeon (Viacom International Media Networks), Super Mommies & Daddies and our friends had a perfect pizzalicious family evening while watching the stars, enjoying the show full of stupendous slime rodeo, singing & dancing and looking for who finally got the orange blimps.

Guess who won the "Favourite Asian Act" award? Yes, the famous G.E.M from China took the orange blimp back home. Where as, Kevin Hart was awarded for being a "Favourite Funny Star" by the kids.
While the famous Patrick Star from SpongeBob Squarepants took away the "Favorite Animated Animal Sidekick" award, SpongeBob Squarepants itself lead the "Favorite Cartoon" category.
Kaley Cuoco from the Big Bang Theory and Pharrel Williams got drenched in green gooey slime apart from Todrick Hall and Chris Rock who equally rocked the show too.

On the other hand, Selena Gomez won the "Favorite Female Singer" award and famous One Direction was the winner in "Favorite Music Group" category for its amazing album - Story of my life.
Slime, noise and kids topped the show. The host Mark Wahlberg, also teased for his unslimeability, got slimmed eventually with the river of slime gushing out on his head and body. Even so the famous magician, David Blaine tasted the slime too!

"Favorite TV Actress" award was taken up by Ariana Grande whereas, Ross Lynch was given the "Favorite TV Actor" blimp. Sam & Cat was also chosen for "Favorite TV Show".
Dan Schneider was accoladed with "Nickelodeon Lifetime Achievement Award".
Adam Sandler got awarded for "Favorite Movie Actor", Jennifer Lawrence for "Favorite Movie Actress", Disney Frozen for "Favorite Animated Movie", Justin Timberlake for "Favorite Male Singer", Robert Downey Jr. for "Favorite Male Buttkicker" and others for remaining award categories.
American Authors performed too on "Best Day of my Life".

Verdict: KCA 2014 was really a fun, energizing and electrifying show full of surprises with slime and stars here and there and all over. Don't miss the repeat telecasts in April.

Replays of Nickelodeon’s 27th Annual Kids' Choice Awards will air on Nickelodeon (StarHub Ch 314) at the following timings:
