Review: Thinkertoyland (Speeding Kart)

Building, Construction, Imagination, Experimentation, Active Learning, Creativity, Variety, Movement and Colours, that's what you can associate Thinkertoyland with.
As the name suggests, it is truly a toy boosting child's imagination and thinking skills. Not only it is fun and challenging to create, recreate and play with but also it creates awareness of real life objects and places such as windmills, gardens, parks, yards, karts, builders, merry-go-round etc. Based on durable plastic and foam pieces, this product is a perfect activity based toy for kids 3 years old and above.

With 96 pieces of different shapes, sizes and material in the box, we tried and tested Thinkertoyland Speeding Kart with our 4 years old boy.
It was indeed a good time out off the electronic gadgets especially over the weekend. Unlike other such toys like lego, it creates prototypes based on movements.
Pros:
1. Easy to create, enhance and recreate
2. Environmental friendly as per US and European toy safety standards
3. Stimulates imagination, problem solving as well as motor skills
4. Encourages involvement and bonding among family members & friends as well as classmates
5. Innovative and enhances hands on ability of a child
6. Comes with clear instructions to build the basic models
7. Creates excitement as the child develops a moveable prototype
8. Comes in 16 different themes including Robot, Happy Zoo, Alice Yard, Dream Park, Super Chariot, Cool Summer, Robot Army, Racing Car, Funny Windmill, Tipper Truck, The Fairy Garden, Gears Time, Speeding Kart, City Builder, Gears Power and Wacky Windmill
Cons:
1. 3-5 years old kids might need adult supervision and help in constructing a prototype as they might not be able to follow instructions and make it on their own which in a way is good too as it creates a fantastic parent-child bonding opportunity.
Verdict:
If your kids like creating toys with movements apart from building and construction then it is worth giving a try.

A CHRISTMAS EXTRAVAGANZA AT SPATHE PUBLIC HOUSE

European casual chic restaurant-café, Spathe Public House, well-known for its mammoth-sized ‘share plate’ menu, is offering a smorgasbord of Christmas specialties to offer diners a truly indulgent festive feast. Savvy Swiss native Chef Claudio Sandri has put together a decadent selection of hearty roasts, mouthwatering seafoods, and luscious desserts which will be available from 16 to 25 December 2013 (dinner only on 24 and 25 December).

CHRISTMAS MAMMOTH SIGNATURES
True to Spathe’s tradition, Chef Claudio has created two Christmas Mammoth Signatures which will readily feed four to six diners. The Turducken is a veritable poultry portmanteau of a quail in a chicken in a duck in a turkey, accompanied by brussel sprouts sautéed in brown butter, garlic potatoes, roasted chestnuts, and cabbage braised in cranberry juice and red wine. The Seafood Stack is every bit as towering as the name suggests and chockfull of whole lobsters, oysters, sous-vide octopus and baby squid, green-lipped mussels, and prawns; to be enjoyed with copious amounts of freshly-baked garlic bread, homemade garlic aioli, curry mayonnaise and cocktail sauce. These festive Mammoth Signatures require a minimum of three days’ advance order

FROM THE SKY
The classic French roasted pigeon is given a piquant Asian twist in The Travellerwhich features pigeon marinated in a local sambal paste for 24 hours before it’s roasted to a delightful crisp exterior, and served with Spathe’s addictive garlicky French fries. Quail lovers can look forward to the Whole Roasted Quail, which Chef Claudio pairs with sautéed brussel sprouts and homemade Spätzle egg dumplings as a nod to his Swiss-German roots. The whimsically-named Red Nose Duck comprises succulent roasted duck breast, Parisienne-style gnocchi and red fruits poached in a spiced red wine.

FROM THE FIELDS
Order the Roasting Cow to indulge in a hefty beef rib-eye (220g) that has been slow-roasted with rosemary, garlic confit, and button mushrooms. Another winsome dish is Beef in the Soup, a wintry comfort food of slow-cooked oxtail in a flavourful broth.

FROM THE SEA
Showcasing the best seafood hulled from the oceans, Spathe offers the Holy Snapper (market price) whereby char-grilled red snapper is served on vegetable byaldi – a French-meets-Turkish casserole of roasted ratatouille vegetables like zucchini, eggplant, and bell peppers. Another must-try is the 3 King Smoked Salmon of smoked Scottish king salmon with capers and red onions on toasted pain de champagne bread.

FROM LOVE OF SWEETS
The dessert selection has been designed with both traditionalists and the whimsical-at-heart in mind. The former will be impressed by the classic Christmas Pudding which will be flambéed at the table with Grand Marnier. For an alternative take on the conventional Yule log, request for Chef Claudio’s swoon-worthy Singapore-inspired Durian Log which proudly showcases a velvety puree of premium San Ba Wang durian rolled between vanilla sponge layers and then drizzled with luscious caramel sauce.

The FREE Marina Square AR Christmas App is available for download on iOS (6.1 and above) and Android (4.2) phones and tablets.

Good News is that even if you do not have any device or the required software even then you can look out for Santa’s helpers who will be on hand with several devices to ensure you do not miss out on the fun and to help with any queries or activation of the app.

How Augmented Reality Winter Wonderland works?
Throughout the “Winter Wonderland”, markers are installed at designated locations. By simply following easy instructions on their free app, mobile and tablet users can explore and uncover AR 3D festive characters and presents.
Step 1: Locate the symbols around the Winter Wonderland which correspond with the ones indicated on the App.
Step 2: Tap the symbol on your device and then point your device at the marker to activate the AR icons.
Step 3: Enjoy the AR activity and snap a picture.

This fun is also carried throughout the mall’s Christmas print advertisements and festive cards. Users can take photos of the AR characters and share them with family and friends on Facebook and Twitter.
